Ethiopian Youth Environmental Awareness (EYEA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing environmental challenges while empowering young people to become responsible leaders and agents of change.

Founded in response to the growing impacts of climate change, environmental degradation, and social vulnerability, EYEA recognizes that sustainable solutions depend on informed, engaged, and empowered youth. Through environmental education, community engagement, and practical action, we support young people in taking an active role in protecting the environment and shaping a sustainable future.

Rural Carbon Literacy & Climate
Governance Programme

Carbon markets are expanding rapidly across Africa, including Ethiopia, particularly in rural areas where forests, land restoration, and agriculture form the basis of many carbon-related initiatives. While these initiatives present opportunities for climate mitigation, they also raise concerns related to community consent, transparency, benefit-sharing, and long-term land rights.
