Project Overview

The Sustainable Waste Management project aims to reduce environmental pollution and promote responsible consumption by engaging youth and communities in practical, awareness-based waste reduction actions.

Implemented by Ethiopian Youth Environmental Awareness (EYEA), the project addresses the growing challenges of unmanaged waste, plastic pollution, and unsustainable consumption patterns affecting urban and peri-urban communities in Ethiopia. By combining public education with hands-on initiatives, the project encourages behavioural change and community responsibility for waste management.

Through zero-waste events, sustainable packaging campaigns, and recycling awareness activities, the project contributes to cleaner environments, healthier ecosystems, and improved quality of life.

Objectives

Core Components

Zero-Waste Events
